Being displaced by technological advancement is not easy to accept. When the company implements this particular imaging technology, it will all but do away with the need for microfilm, thus reducing the workload by nearly eighty percent. automation? Are they able to be retrained elsewhere within the company, or does the company have no alternative but to let them go? Clearly, there are both pros and cons with regard to technical automation when viewed from the employee's perspective, depending upon which receiving end the individual happens to be.
